Skilled Independent Visa (Subclass 189) 

The Skilled Independent Visa (Subclass 189) is a permanent, points-based visa designed for skilled workers who do not have employer, family, or state/ territory sponsorship. It grants the freedom to live, work, and study anywhere across Australia, providing applicants with the flexibility to establish their life without any geographic or sponsorship limitations.

 

Skilled Nominated Visa (Subclass 190) 

The Skilled Nominated Visa (Subclass 190) is a permanentresidency visa for skilled workers nominated by anAustralian state or territory. This points-based visa allowsapplicants to live and work in Australia permanently, provided they remain in the nominating state or territoryfor a specified period that varies based on local requirements. Unlike the Subclass 189 visa, which offerscomplete flexibility, the Subclass 190 ties applicants tospecific regions where their skills are in demand.

Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) Visa (Subclass 491)

This is a points-tested visa for skilled workers who are either nominated by a state or territory government or sponsored by an eligible family member living in a designated regional area. It is a temporary visa with a pathway to permanent residency (Subclass 191) after living and working in a regional area for a set period.
